New Availability Zones Coming Soon: London & Frankfurt

LumaDock is expanding into two new regions: London and Frankfurt. These new availability zones offer lower latency, better compliance, and faster performance for users across Western and Central Europe - all with the same control panel and pricing.

LumaDock is expanding. We’re adding two new regions, London and Frankfurt, to join our existing infrastructure in Bucharest. This is a big step forward, especially for customers in Western and Central Europe who need lower latency, more flexibility, and strong data compliance options.

We’re a LifeinCloud brand, and this rollout is part of our broader presence across their European availability zones. You’ll soon have more choice when deploying servers, without needing to switch platforms or learn anything new.

Why expand at all?

Right now, all LumaDock infrastructure lives in Bucharest. That’s worked great for many of our users, especially in Eastern Europe. But proximity matters.

When your VPS is physically closer to your users, apps load faster. APIs respond quicker. File transfers and database queries are snappier. Every millisecond counts when you’re hosting for real people in the real world.

By adding London and Frankfurt, we’re giving you the ability to launch servers in key locations without adding complexity, cost, or extra steps.

This isn’t about scaling just for the sake of it. It’s about keeping things fast, fair, and close to where your users are.

We’re keeping what works: instant provisioning, predictable pricing, and real human support. We’re just giving you more places to build from.

Inside the London zone

This new availability zone is located in London’s Docklands – one of the UK’s most connected digital hubs. It uses a Netwise-run facility that’s ISO 27001 and 9001 certified and designed for high-performance workloads.

Some highlights:

  • Carrier-neutral with direct access to LINX, LONAP, and Equinix
  • Dual 1.5MVA power feeds with N+N UPS and on-site generator support
  • 24/7 manned security with access control and monitored perimeter
  • Efficient cooling infrastructure with 1.10 PUE target
  • 100% renewable energy use, refrigerant-free design
  • Up to 64 amps of conditioned power per rack

If you’re running applications that serve users in the UK or Western Europe, this zone will significantly reduce latency and improve response time.

What Frankfurt brings to the table

The Frankfurt zone is hosted in Firstcolo’s R3 facility: a modern, state-of-the-art, Tier III certified data center located near DE-CIX, Europe’s largest internet exchange point.

Key features:

  • Four N+1 UPS systems with overvoltage protection and dual emergency power
  • Advanced cooling with hot/cold aisle containment and underfloor air distribution
  • Biometric access control, 24/7 surveillance, and active alarm systems
  • TÜV Saarland certified and fully GDPR-ready
  • Fire-safe design with Argon gas suppression and early detection
  • 100% renewable energy powered with a 1.25 PUE rating
  • Uses 40% less electricity than typical data centers

This zone is a great fit for data-intensive workloads, multi-region deployments, or any application where proximity to Central Europe matters.

What’s changing on your end?

Nothing, really. These new zones will appear inside your control panel once they go live. You’ll be able to choose Bucharest, London, or Frankfurt during VPS setup… and that’s it.

Everything else stays the same:

  • Same dashboard and provisioning flow
  • Same pricing and product tiers – we’re not charging more just because it’s “London”.
  • Same security features, firewall access, and root control
  • Same snapshots, backups, and upgrade flexibility
  • Lower latency if your users are in the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, etc.

If you already have a VPS running and want to move it to a new region, we’ll migrate it for you: no charge, no downtime. Just open a support ticket and we’ll take care of it.

Is data still GDPR-compliant?

Yes. All three zones (Bucharest, London, and Frankfurt) are fully GDPR-compliant and ISO-certified. If your business needs to meet local residency rules or serve sensitive customer data, you’ll have full control over where that data is stored and processed.

You can choose where your data lives, and that choice sticks. We don’t move data between regions unless you tell us to.

This matters for anyone handling EU customer info, running compliance-sensitive apps, or dealing with data residency regulations.

When will the new zones be available?

Frankfurt will be available first. London will follow shortly after. We’re finishing up the last deployment and testing steps now.

Once everything’s ready, we’ll notify users via our newsletter and blog. You’ll also see both options inside the control panel during deployment. No need to update or install anything.

Want to migrate?

If you’re an existing customer and want to move a VPS to London or Frankfurt, we’ve got you covered. Just reach out to our support team and we’ll migrate your server with zero downtime and no manual setup required.
