What Cloudron is and why people self-host it
Cloudron is a self-hosting platform for web apps. Install it once, point a domain at it and add apps from its store the way you would on a phone: Nextcloud, GitLab, n8n, Ghost, Matomo and Element among them, each in its own Docker container with its own database. New releases arrive within days and security fixes within a day, applied on a schedule you set, with a backup taken before every update.
Self-hosting Cloudron keeps your data, your user accounts and your mail on a server you control. Everyone signs in to every app with one account, backups go encrypted to storage you choose and the whole installation can be moved to another server with its apps intact. Two apps are free.
