Long Island Interconnect is the carrier-neutral interconnection hub where our New York hardware lives, at 1025 Old Country Road in Westbury, 24 miles east of Manhattan. The building has operated as a colocation facility since 2008, sitting 110 ft above sea level and outside the 100-year flood zone that catches coastal Manhattan sites during major storms.
The on-site DE-CIX New York switch peers with 200+ networks in the metro and roughly 1,500 globally. Subsea systems landing on the Long Island coast (AC-1, AC-2, AEConnect-1, Cross Sound Cable, MAC and WALL-LI) reach the building over short fiber runs, with Manhattan-bypass available when New York gets congested. Cogent, Verizon, Crown Castle, Altice, Aqua Comms and Epsilon land in the meet-me room.
