AzuraCast puts the whole broadcast stack behind one interface. Icecast or SHOUTcast carries the stream while Liquidsoap drives the AutoDJ. Playlists, scheduling, live DJ handover and listener statistics all live in the same web application. A single install can run several stations at once. The project is AGPL licensed.
Commercial stream hosts price by listener slots and by bitrate, so a good night costs more than a quiet one and better audio means a bigger plan. Self-hosting changes the shape of that entirely. Quality becomes a setting rather than a tier. The ceiling on listeners is your bandwidth rather than your invoice.
